Project ElderCool
Kansas City summers can be unbearable, and very dangerous for those who don’t have air conditioning. Bishop Sullivan Center initiated Project ElderCool in 2000. We provide a window air-conditioner to any indigent elderly person in the Metro area, and have installed more than 4,000 air conditioners since the program started..
This program has all but eliminated heat related deaths among the elderly in our city. With each air conditioner, we also make a deposit in the homeowner’s utility account to help them with the cost of running the unit.
Donor Match!
