Lift a Burden

Everyone can use a hand every now and then. These are people in your community who could use your help to Lift a BurdenTM off their shoulders. Our staff has qualified the people listed below as deserving of help. We are part of a city-wide computer system to make sure that people are not "double-dipping" from other agencies.




Laura
Laura is a single mom with a 14 year-old son. Two years ago she was working and suddenly became ill and has not been able to work since. Her case is one of the thousands caught in the backlog of disability applications so she does not yet receive a disability payment of any kind. Her home and food are provided for, but her cash flow is less than $100 a month. She needs $142.52 for her electric bill before her house goes dark.
