Thanks to the generosity of the Catherin V. Merrill Foundation, Bishop Sullivan Center is proud to offer a summer internship program for Catholic college students to serve people who are in need or marginalized in our community.


Full-time positions are available at nonprofit organizations throughout Kansas City.
Students are compensated $12 per hour with the potential for a bonus
at the end of the summer depending on performance.
Orientation will take place on May 20th, 2019, and students will serve at
their placement organization from May 28th - August 2nd
As requested by the Catherin V. Merrill Foundation, this program is for undergraduate students entering
their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of college in the fall of 2019 and are active in their Catholic faith.

The application process involves:


  • Online application
  • Two recommendation letters: One recommendation letter is to be from an adult outside of your family, and one recommendation letter is to be from your pastor or parish staff (or campus ministry equivalent). Please have letters sent directly from person recommending applicant to Chanelle Zak at
  • In person interview. You will be contacted to schedule your interview after your application and recommendation letters have been received. If you attend school outside of Kansas City, your interview can be scheduled over a break.

Online application and your two recommendation letters

must be submitted by 11:59pm on February 28th, 2019.
