Visit One City Café

One City Café welcomes all for a delicious, healthy dinner every weeknight. If you are hungry and in need of a good, hot meal, or simply a friend who wants to enjoy nutritious food and support our community, stop in for a dinner served with a smile in our spacious dining rooms. Together, we can unify our city, one meal at a time. 

Volunteer

Volunteers are vital in keeping our programs running successfully. With your help, we can provide our community with Food, Jobs, and Aid. Volunteer opportunities include serving a meal at One City Café, packing and distributing groceries in one of our food pantries, and helping in our office. Your support makes Bishop Sullivan Center’s work possible. Financial contributions can be designated to support programs that provide Food, Jobs, or Aid to our community.

You can also Sponsor a Night at One City Café to provide a hearty, healthy meal for all.

Gifts of non-perishable food, clothing, and personal care items also go straight to our clients. Please view a list of accepted and most needed items.  

Summer Internship Program

Each summer, Bishop Sullivan Center offers an internship program for Catholic college students. Through full-time internships, students can serve marginalized communities, gain professional experience, and grow in their faith. A diverse variety of paid positions are available at nonprofit organizations throughout Kansas City.

Serve. Learn. Earn.

Serve. Learn. Earn. is a unique program for college students to engage in service and conversation about social ethics, poverty, and social responsibility. Serve. Learn. Earn. sessions are seven weeks long and new sessions begin each spring and fall. One night each week, students Serve dinner at One City Cafe, Learn through interaction, articles, and discussions, and will Earn a stipend for their participation.

Defend Against Hunger

Bishop Sullivan Center and Matt Besler, captain of Sporting KC, teamed up to Defend Against Hunger in our community. We offer events throughout the year for families to make a difference. Through Defend Against Hunger, we invite your family to learn more about food insecurity, to engage in conversations, grow closer through service to others and spread awareness in our community.

Together, we can Defend Against Hunger in our city.

Auction and Trivia Night 

Mark your calendar for March 28th, 2020!

Our Auction and Trivia Night is our biggest event of the year. Join us for an evening of fun, including dinner, silent and live auctions, trivia, a raffle, and more. All proceeds support our mission to provide food, jobs, and aid to our community.
